Welcome to Kiah Grooming!

Officially Opened January 7th 2025!

We’re a small, home run business in Rockbank, VIC with a big passion for pets.

The name Kiah Grooming was inspired by the aboriginal word “Kiah” meaning ‘a beautiful place’. We wanted our name to be intentional to the space we envision, a place that feels welcoming to all our furry visitors.

Kiah Grooming is qualified through a reputable (and practical!) training program, having worked with the Australasian Dog Grooming Academy and IGroom School for Professional Dog Groomers. We have worked alongside some of Australia’s best in the grooming world and only wish to continue setting an ethical and safe standard when it comes to working with animals.

Feel in safe hands that our small, home run business is ABN registered, fully insured, and qualified to work with your furry friend, ensuring their health and wellbeing is number one.

Our salon owner, Maddy, is accredited in Stress-Free techniques and Pet First Aid, so send us through a message and see how we can help you and your pup out today!

About the Owner!

Hi, I’m Maddy. Thank you for showing interest in my little dream-become-reality!

Originally from a small country town in NSW, I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and the peace that comes with country living. I moved to Melbourne to pursue a career in the Arts, however COVID-19 had other plans for me which saw me working within the Big 4 Banks for 4 years. Although it was not quite where I saw myself being, working a corporate job gave me the opportunity to travel, pay off my student debt and purchase a home with my forever partner.

I decided I wanted to do something different and come back to my roots. I wanted to thrive on something that I could grow from and also give back to the community. I had always loved being around animals and knew I needed to do something practical and creative.

I was nervous at the idea of a career change and jumping into the unknown, but I knew that the regret of not giving it a go would have danced around far longer than if I tried regardless of the outcome. I spent most of my savings to learn the art of dog grooming and, after having worked in other salons, wished to someday set up my own, more personalised one in my local community.

Now that the time has come to give it my all, I must say, it was one of the best decisions that to this day I am proud of. Thank you for being a part of that feeling!
